It’s January 2022!
2021 is in the history books, and what a year!
We are moving forward. It is time to focus on the positives. Many of us are part of expanding families through marriage and birth and adding new friends and acquaintances. We at Belle Visage Medical Aesthetics are happy to be part of your new circle. Hopefully, most of us are thriving and meeting every challenge with energy and focus.
One aspect of our humanity is the ability to re-calibrate habits and behaviors that have become outdated, and in some cases, even harmful. It is tempting for some to just enjoy every single moment life has to offer, including extra beverages and the unexpected windfall of cookies, cakes, pies, and holiday candies, etc., we consumed over the holidays. It is the easiest time of the year to rationalize consuming extra calories. If you are not an expert calorie counter, you may find yourself in the unfortunate position of having added 5 to 10 pounds over the holidays. For some who have already gained the “Covid 15”, this puts extra pressure on our health going forward.
Every new year is seen as a milestone marker. As this new year begins, it is a time for reflection, resolutions, and a new start. We start 2022 with a blank slate. We are collectively optimistic and hopeful for 2022. So, as we embrace 2022, take a few minutes to formulate a plan to succeed in improving your health, reverse signs of aging, restore your natural hormone rhythms, etc. Maybe you have gained some unwanted weight, and you would feel better with a medically supervised weight loss program. At Belle Visage Medical Aesthetics, we can help you formulate a plan to restore your appearance, lose weight and turn back the clock.
2022 is the year to take the reins and make your life story a world-class success story. You can look better, feel better, eat better, love better, move better – you can build a better you, but it takes significant inputs on your part. Poor and lazy habits do not deliver. Every meal, step you take, and word you speak mold your mind and body. Gift yourself with as many positive inputs as possible in this coming year.
Belle Visage Medical Aesthetics staff are excited to introduce you to their newest program, a 24-week challenge to a healthier you. We are all involved and look forward to making new friends through this program. You may start any month of the year. Our Essentials Program encompasses 6 months of nutrition and wellness counseling covering topics such as stress, macronutrients, fiber, meal planning, intermittent fasting, activity, non-caloric sweeteners, the Mediterranean dietary pattern, and other healthy dietary patterns, improving core strength, etc. It includes twice-monthly 15-minute virtual visits with our newest staff member, Dr. Whitten. Twenty-four weeks of our Concierge Program includes everything in the Essentials Program but includes additional topics for those who may need weekly attention. You are scheduled for a weekly 15-minute virtual visit with Dr. Whitten in the Concierge Program. You come to our office in both programs, where our medical staff clears you for the program. We perform an EKG, body measurements, measure your body composition, and go over the program at this appointment. We re-measure your body composition once per month while you are in the program to ensure you are losing fat and not valuable lean muscle mass. We use a quick and painless procedure (it just requires lying down for a few minutes) to measure the baseline body compartments of body fat, lean muscle mass, bone mineral content, and intra- and extracellular water. We even measure something known as ‘phase angle,’ a measure of cellular health. If you just want a weight loss prescription, we can do that for you as well. There are many new prescription weight loss meds, one of which may be the perfect fit for you.
As you progress through the Essentials or the Concierge programs, we anticipate you will lose inches and fat while improving your metabolic health. Each program includes aesthetic services as you reach certain weight loss markers.
As we close out 2021 and welcome 2022, we would like to suggest January is a good month to consider making changes. Pick one or two changes. Too many changes can be overwhelming. Write your change or changes on a large piece of paper and post them in a prominent place in your home or office. Sharing your changes with others will give you some accountability. Below are just a few changes you might consider, but we are sure you can add many more to this list.
